Douglas de Almeida

Doug was born in West Virginia and raised in South Florida. He attended the University of Florida earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1979. He obtained his law degree in 1982 also from the University of Florida. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1983 and is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
In 1985 he returned to South Florida and began his career in the area of insurance defense litigation mainly in the areas of motor vehicle negligence claims, motor carrier claims, uninsured motorist claims and premises liability. Over the past thirty years he has tried in excess of twenty five cases in state and federal court as lead counsel, obtaining numerous favorable verdicts in counties throughout Florida.
Doug is also a member of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association. In the past he was an approved instructor by the Florida Department of Financial Services to teach continuing education courses to insurance adjusters throughout the State of Florida.
Doug and his wife, Jane, have two lovely daughters and live in Davie, Florida.
